Lancashire and South Cumbia Primary Care Training Hub are pleased to announce that we have published our new training for the non-clinical workforce! 
This is apart of our new project to support the training and development of the NonClinical Workforce within Primary Care.
 
The below training and courses are the most requested training from our Nonclinical training requests survey we have circulated over the past few months. 

AMSPAR Diploma and Modules

The course will raise confidence, eliminates the most common mistakes with a simple to use structure, and will improve the quality of the coding in the practice, which in turn will improve safety, audit, QoF and quality.

AIMS

  • To examine the reasons for coding
  • Introducing Snomed Concepts
  • Explaining how concepts can be used to increase accuracy.
  • To explain searching techniques for coding
  • To develop an understanding of common coding errors and how to make good

Care Navigation

With the Forward View requiring that primary care takes the lead on signposting patients to the most appropriate support (other than the GP they want to see), practice staff will need to learn a range of skills in holding these conversations and dealing with the challenges of patient expectation and behaviour.

This Primary Care Navigation Training is designed to specifically support primary care staff in having conversations that will encourage patients to see the most appropriate person to manage their needs.

AIMS

  • What is care navigation?
  • Why is care navigation essential in taking primary care forward?
  • Recognising the care navigation we are already doing.
  • Understanding that signposting is not triage
  • Tips to ensure that patients have confidence in the process

Managing Difficult Telephone Conversations (with Resilience)

This interactive course enhances telephone skills to enable your team to develop better rapport with patients, control conversations better, care navigate and also to reduce difficult conversations/abuse.

L&SC PCTH are inviting 1 staff member (can be non-clinical and clinical) from each PCN to complete this free (face to face) 1 day training course to become a Fit Tester* within their practice. 
*A Fit Tester is a member of staff who can ensure members of their practice are correctly fitting  all makes and models of FFP  masks and reusable half mask respirators. 
A Fit Tester can be Clinical or Non-Clinical. They must be process driven, with good people skills, able to follow prescribed procedures and adhere strict processing.

New Care Certificate Assessors eLearning course 

Created in partnership with Health Education England, the Care Certificate assessors eLearning course has been designed to support Care Certificate assessment. The interactive content within the course has been designed to support existing Care Certificate assessors in refreshing their skills, and for those new to assessing. 

Employers can claim £100 from the Workforce Development Fund (WDF) for every employee who successfully completes both sessions, and where WDF eligibility criteria has been met.
