RCGP Post-Covid Syndrome (Long Covid).

While most people will recover from Covid symptoms, as many as 1 in 20 infected are still significantly affected more than three months post exposure. The elderly, those admitted to hospital with Covid, those with comorbidities and women are more likely to experience long term effects. The majority of patients are being looked after in primary care, though regional centres which are being established across the UK to help support the most severely affected. There is a real need to support primary care in helping patients and also develop an improved understanding of the various syndromes in order to identify effective treatments.
