Violence Risk Reduction and Public Health Webinar

Event placeholder

The Northwest Population Health and Prevention Network (NWPHPN) is hosting a webinar on Violence Risk Reduction on 19th May 2022, 1:00-2:30pm. This webinar will explore what a public health approach to violence reduction looks like, both in theory and in practice.

Three violence reduction units will be profiled in the Northwest: Cheshire & Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Lancashire & South Cumbria. All share common features: a life-course approach starting at pre-conception, a commitment to addressing the wider determinants of health and a focus on innovation to provide positive alternatives to support people to find purpose and ‘inclusion’. All the while sharing the common goal of reducing and preventing serious violence through tackling its root causes through cross sector collaboration and partnership. Yet, each unit is equally distinctive.

The NWPHPN is therefore delighted to announce the Violence Risk Reduction webinar will be co-chaired by a leading member of the Northwest Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise Sector (VCSE), Sefton Women’s and Children’s Aid (SWACA). SWACA’s Chief Executive Neil Frackleton.
